Aloha from Maui!

Adora's first trip to Napili Kai, Maui, introduced her to the unhurried way of life. Time spent on the beach was a daily treat with repeated sunscreen applications.

Adora also learned about the history of the Hawaiian people, including tea leaf leis. Although her cranial size measures larger than average, she still needed some help with the crowns. The lei brought out the warrior face!

The first venture into the ocean was less successful than we had hoped for, but the loud crashing waves make even the most seasoned beach-goer nervous.

However, the maitai party was a huge success... perhaps, a little more successful than we had hoped.

Look out, boys- this wahine is on the prowl!

Pastimes

Much like her father, Adora enjoys spending her down time with friends and watching baseball.

Although it's questionable how much of the game Adora saw, the A's beat the Tigers that day.

Here's Adora with Chuck Javernick and his daughter Amy Will...

And meeting (boy)friend Eli Olifson and his parents (I know, meeting the parents on a first date... a lot of pressure).

These are photos from Adora's first baseball game, but since we're A's fans we're burying the pictures at the bottom of this posting. Thanks to Jim Newman for the great tickets, and we even got a free bear!

June 2009 (month 6)

In her sixth month, Adora has begun to show more signs of her own personality, including endless curiosity.

She seems also to be getting tired of her baby toys, and loves to grab grown-up items like plates and glasses, coasters, blankets, really anything that happens to come within reach.

She'll also get frustrated when she gets bored (cue angry grunting sound), which can be a bit of a challenge. But when in doubt we often take her for a walk to the park, which seems to be her favorite activity.
